I love this shot. The composition might not be technically perfect and I’ve made my usual mistake of not concentrating on the edge of the frame, but I think it’s not enough to ruin this shot.
This summer work took me to a destination I had always wanted to visit; Iceland. It was a whistle stop tour which didn’t give me as much time as I would like but I have to say it lived up to my expectations. The purpose of the trip was to look at the effects of tourism on the island. Now, this is an island of less than 400,000 people but tourist numbers of in 2014 were nearly a million.
This Christmas I took my m9 to our family gatherings with the aim of getting some family portraits to celebrate the occasion. My teenage nephew is at the stage where he refuses to have his picture taken though. On the condition I did not take any pictures of his face. I think he liked it from the grunts he made.
As you know my wife have birth six weeks ago, before she did though she asked me to take some maternity photos.
If you remember back to my last post I had developed my first roll of film and discovered that the light leak was indeed in my camera not the film as I hoped. Examining the negatives though there were some salvageable shots. So I had a decision to make, scan or print.
This is the second photo in my series of photos from Flickr which I absolutely love. This one is by another very talented photographer She Escobar. When I first saw this image I immediately thought of Sebastião Salgado.

There’s been a lot of technical stuff on my blog recently so I thought I’d pick some great shots I’ve seen recently on Flickr and discuss why i like them so much so here’s the first one by Adam Bonn.
