This month we have yet another member of the inimitable AllFormat Collective. Ioana Marinca. Ioana is an analogue photographer whose touching documentary work made me hunt her down on Instagram and she kindly agreed to an interview.
Richard James Palmer is a British photographer from South Shields, UK. He spends his time documenting the North East of England, using a Mamiya 7ii and Ilford Hp5, Richard has recently self published a book on his Home Town, “Home Sweet Home” and is currently working on a 365 project using Fuji Instax Wide and continuing to document his home town for Home Sweet Home volume 2.
Rodrigue Zahr is a Lebanon based director, editor and photographer whose imaginative humanistic style is reflected in the documentation of exceptional events, products and people within his work. Zahr is the production manager and photography director at ELLE Oriental magazine but has worked for national and international firms such as Monocle magazine, LS:N Global, Louis Vuitton, Ladurée Paris, Swedish minister for international development cooperation, Bank Audi, Step Together and many more. Zahr is known for his discerning journalistic sensibility.
Form covering the armed conflict in Syria to accompanying bomb disposal squads in Laos Andy Bush has travelled with his trusty X-Series Fujis getting the shots for British newspapers. Andy will be telling us about his experiences in an exclusive interview next month.
Having a nine week old baby has severely limited the amount of time I’ve spent seriously focusing on photography recently. Apart from the million shots of him currently taking up the majority of my phone’s memory. Instead I’ve been spending time researching new photographers and trying to post process some of my old shots to imitate them. I know I should create my own style but I find it quite fun!

I’ve talked before about how I took a great picture with my smart phone when the batteries all ran out on my Fuji, well here’s another smartphone shot. This time I just didn’t have a camera with me. I know I should always carry one just in case but I figure having my phone means I am always carrying a camera.
Waffleman
I love this shot. The composition might not be technically perfect and I’ve made my usual mistake of not concentrating on the edge of the frame, but I think it’s not enough to ruin this shot.
I decided early in 2015 to go back to film. The reason was I had my 30th birthday and decided that I wanted something special to mark this occasion. But what to get? My dream camera of course. A Leica. I know, I know they cost a lot. I know, a lot of people buy them just for that little red dot. I know you can get a camera that will give great results for a fraction of the price but… It has been my dream to own a Leica since I’ve owned a camera.
